just wanted to start a friendly competition on who could achieve the highest speed that they possibly could, i personally have gotten 105mph before backing off of the throttle due to lack of space. i'd love to hear anybody elses numbers!

Regarding prop pitch: Most of the guys running the speeds over 100 mph aren't redline limited to 55000-6500 rpm like we are. Some of them are turning closer to 8000, so the pitch required is quite a bit less. Going from 6000 rpm to 8000 would take a 40 pitch down to about 30, so that's probably a large part of the descrepency there.

that makes sense, thanks for the explanation

Here we go. I've added a way to increase the weight and also am displaying dry and total weight on screen. 10% increments from 0-100%, so a lot more options than just light/medium/heavy. What you have now would effectively be at about 60%, so there is a lot of room to lighten the boats. 0% is calibrated to be about where the HydroStreams are. Allisons are a little bit heavier, then at the top end of that you'd be closer to regular bassboats probably.

Lighter isn't always better though, if you were to lighten your 14 footer all the way it'd probably take off before you hit 60 mph. I've also changed the material densities on different parts of the boat which moves the center of gravity forward and slightly down. I'm going to play with this a bit and if it makes me smile enough on the Oculus Rift then I'll try to release a patch in the next few days with this.

Top speed records will probably come down a bit, but hopefully we won't have the tiny little 14 foot pointer boats being the fastest option anymore.

I just got an email from a boat design office that said they hit 105 mph with 150 hp, and a whopping 138 mph with 300hp.... I asked for a screenshot because... Wow.. No way...?

Speed mystery has been solved... He's from the UK so had it in metric mode. In metric mode the speedometer needle and face are in mph while the digital readout is kph. He interpreted the kph to be mph. So it turns out he was running about 98 mph. The record of 116 mph stands. 🙂

just saw this, and that explains a lot...
happy to hear that it was something small like that

Note to self: Swap out the speedo for a fully metric version. 😉

Greetings from Latvian.
Viewing the game is under construction.
A first what should be done, I think put buoys and create time system.
The second set up the online system, which would be a step forward to attract riders.
Third create several types of boats should catamarans

Wishing you good luck, powerboat driver Kristaps.

Nice! Is that since yesterday's patch with the weight adjustment? Curious what weight you used, if it was the lightest possible setting or not.

Yeah this is from yesterday's patch. Weight increase is at 0%. 473lbs dry weight.

By the way, the boats you save are in the boats folder. Haven't tried it yet, but you might be able to attach those files to forum posts if you guys want to share the boats.

Here's my 117 boat. Don't know if it will work uploading but we'll see. Disregard the file name I just saved over my old boat. Hopefully others can use this and maybe help get some more gains out of it.

Nevermind haha I guess the file won't attach.

I wonder if zipping it might work.

Todd Wasson

I've updated the record on the website to 117 mph.

Rickle

When I get back home I'll try zipping it.

Let's try again.

Rickle

Nope. My 7zip doesn't seem to want to zip it so I tried winrar and still wouldn't attach.
