what is the criteria for getting three motors on one boat? i've tried making them ridiculously wide, long, you name it. i can tell there's plenty of space for another motor but it doesn't seem to want to add the third...any ideas?

Try reducing the transom deadrise angle to almost zero and increasing the engine spacing as far as it'll go. If that deadrise line is too steep there won't be enough room to fit the engine. After you get the third engine in there you can then increase the deadrise again.

You can check out the change log for more details: http://www.speedboatsim.com/change-log/

The only real restriction is that the jackplates have to fit without being too close to the edges of the boat on the bottom outside corners. The length of the boat doesn't matter, it's all just about having enough space on the stern.

You could also try loading DIDI_Boat3, that's a triple engine setup. You can then tweak from there.
